Fifteen years ago, Russ Cobb along with two partners sought our help as their newly formed company went through a common challenge for successful new businesses: explosive growth – quickly growing from 20 to over 500 employees. In 2008 they accepted a buyout offer creating a liquidity event for the owners, as well as the prospect of potentially retiring early. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, in 2011 Russ started another company, Lifeline Ambulance, which is currently enjoying equal success.
Our unique solution
M Capital implemented a number of financial incentives to balance the needs of the partners with rewarding loyal employees who remained with the company. After the buyout, we invested monies for a number of objectives, including potential lifetime income. At the start of his new venture, we accessed competitive lines of credit for initial capital outlay, avoiding taxes on liquidation of assets. We're now helping Russ build out a similar architecture for his new business to minimize corporate taxes, maximize after-tax income and motivate highly productive employees for the long term.
